During the month of October, the historic Ambler Theater shows a beloved Halloween-y film every Friday as a part of their Retrograde series. As you might predict, the year 2020 put this tradition to the test. Despite the obstacles put up by COVID-19, they didn’t let the tradition die. Just like many other things, the theater decided to move fully online! Each Friday, Ambler Theater hosted a virtual watch party complete with a game of trivia. I had the opportunity to design a series of posters used to promote the events, as well as having them be printed and given as the prize to the first prize winner of trivia!

I was lucky enough to have a great list of films to work from. I was inspired by the cover of horror comic books from the 50s, and wanted to give the illusion that each poster was actually the cover to a beat up copy of the comic book. Each poster was rendered in Procreate and Photoshop and measures 11 x 17 in.
